An apron for Peter.

002004006Peter has KP duty 3 times a week. He is in need of an apron.  He is 6 foot 8 inches tall. Yes, he needs a custom apron. No problem.  A yard of denim, bias tape, and some twill tape. I am good to go!   I hope he likes it. : )

I know this looks really long, but the manny is only 5 feet tall.

Every year at Christmas, I house sit for Steve and Dale. I live in their lovely home and take care of their adorable beagle, Olive.  I noticed they do not have oven mitts.  Dale does lots of cooking and baking, so I figured, why not. Make some mitts for these guys.

I found some very nice gray cotton prints. Perfect!

Kitchen curtains

I have been thinking about new curtains for the kitchen for some time. At one point, I had fabric lined up, but it ended up in my guest room.  Recently, I put a set of sheets aside to use in some sort of sewing project. No real plan. Well, the other day I was thinking more about the kitchen curtain idea, and tada!  The sheets came to mind. They are perfect. Stripes, cotton mix and colors that go with everything. One queen size flat sheet made curtains and valances for the whole kitchen.  I am very pleased!

New lunch tote.

I finally made a new lunch tote for myself. I have been wanting to do it for a while and I have had it cut and ready for at least a week. The pieces covering the kitchen table, is not what I had in mind.

I used remnants and belting I bought on “clearance”.  So, not a lot of cost. This is always a good thing!

Keep it safe!

For the longest time, I have been carrying two knives in my lunch bag. They are wrapped in a paper towel and rubber band. I know, not the greatest idea, but they are only cutting what I want. Well, no more!  I decided to make a case for them. Neat and tidy. Very quick, easy and I didn’t think about it to much. Just went for it. Remnant and shoe string. Tada!!!

Lynn had some decorative throw pillows on her patio bench that had been out in the elements for quite some time, and needed new covers.  We had a short discussion about fold over closures, and decided it was the way to go. Quick and easy!  Whaalaa!!

Stu and Vanessa had a bouncing baby boy 4 months ago. Little Ansel. I wanted to make an outfit for him. I used a pattern I have had for years. The overalls are made from a pair of my work pants, and the shirt 014is remnant pieces. I think it’s pretty cute.

019021027024Jeffrey and William are two of my favorite men. Jeff just had a birthday earlier this month and William is someone I met at work. We clicked right away!  I wanted to do something for both of them. Since I am still on an oven mitt kick, I decided to make one for both of them. They both cook. : )   I am all about gifting practical things.  I used scrap fabric, so no real cost to me.
