More Denim!

I have been experimenting with Denim quite a bit lately. I like the shades of blue, especially when the hems, waste bands and inseams are opened with a seam ripper rather than cut off. Fabulous!

I find sewing strips on an angle very interesting. It creates all kinds of wonderful patterns, and textures.

This is my latest experiment. Not quite sure what this will become. Right now, that doesn’t matter.

I made a tote for my neighbor recently, with a pattern I like, but want to play with it a bit, and see what other looks I can get from it. I came up with these two.

A tote for my neighbor.

My neighbor has been gifting me a little something every year at Christmas for about the last 3 years. I don’t do much gifting, but I thought this year I would reciprocate.

Fushia Rabbit!

Tallulah loves stuffed bunnies. I have not made a bunny for her, so I figure I should.

A tote for the family.

This year for Christmas, I have decided to fill a tote with lots of tasty snacks for my daughter and her family.

As luck would have it, I have the perfect pair of jeans to use to create the tote. I am pleased with how it turned out. I think my daughter and family will like it as well.

My friend Stef is having surgery this week. I wanted to give her a little pre-op gift. I decided a tote and

makeup bag might be nice. I used pieces of denim from worn jeans, and cotton print I had in my stash.

I hope she likes it.

A new tote for Paul.

I was told recently that a tote bag I made for my nephew a while back has been stolen! OMG! I was annoyed and flattered. Annoyed about it being stolen. Flattered that someone found it nice enough to steal. Go figure.

Well, of course I must replace it. And, that I did.

I decided Lulah needs an apron to wear when she is helping me bake.

I have one of this fabric, so of course, she needs one as well.

Bear’s second birthday.

My grandbaby is 2 years old today. I wanted to make a little something for her. I have some old pieces of Denim that are worn just enough to make a pair of shorts for her.

This is the first time I have made an article of clothing that stands up by itself. So, bazaire!

I was asked to make a duvet cover using faux fur and a shower curtain with Winnie the Pooh artwork on it. I don’t work with fur generally, but when your kid asks you to do it, you do it. : )

The artwork was bigger than the faux fur, so I had to create a border for the fur before I could begin to create the cover. As luck would have it, I had just the right amount of unbleached Muslin to create the border. The perfect color, as well.
