Steve was nice enough to send pictures of the curtains I hemmed, and the pillows I made, in their new home. They look great, and we are both very pleased. Thanks Steve! (-;

Foam is a little difficult to handle. Steve and I had a discussion about covering it with something before I made the actual decorative cover. It would make it easier to work with when removing for washing, etc. We both agreed it would be the way to go. Luckily, I had a sheet that was the perfect color, and size to make one. Wasn’t hard to make. Didn’t take to long. Was a little tricky getting the foam in, but it fits, and looks pretty good.

I had a couple of good sized pieces of fabric I cut from curtains I hemmed for Steve. I asked it he was interested in a couple of decorative throw pillows made from that fabric. He was very interested. He soon had two pillows ready for me to cover. I used “French” seams, and “fold over” closures. Just like the green pillow I made for him previously. They turned out very nice, and I think he will be pleased.

I was recently contacted by Steve, who asked if I could make a cover for his “body” pillow. He already has the pillow, and the fabric, so half the battle is done. I met with him a few days later, and he gave me the materials to do the job. He designed the fabric through a website. Very cool! I will have to investigate that further.

I started, and finished the pillow a couple of days after our meeting. It turned out nice. I hope he likes it.

Jon had a rug that
he wanted to hang in on the wall in his new home. HHmmm… I did some research, and agreed to take on the task. We met, discussed it, and before long, I had a casing, and a rod on the back of the rug. Ready to display on a wall in his new house. I did have to cover a ruff edge on one end of the pole. I used a small piece of leather to create a “cap”. Used some glue to attach it. Looks great!

I bought this leather coat years ago second hand for what would now be considered a “steal”. Nat has been wearing it for the last few years, and recently brought it back to me with a tear. HHmmm. Should I tear it up, and use the leather for another project? Nope! I decided to repair it. Haven’t worked with leather before. Let’s see what can be done.
I was able to save it. Hopefully, Nat will get a little more wear out of it. It doesn’t look as good as new, but I think it will be fine. Both of us got our mileage out of it. Even though it is old, and has been around the corner, it still looks pretty good.

I decided to make one more skirt from a pair of 501’s. No lining, bells, or whistles. Just a simple, button fly, scarf belted, skirt. The bottom raveled wonderfully, and this version is a little longer than the ones I have made in the past. If anyone is interested in purchasing it, I would be happy to sell. The waist is 38″, and the length of the front is about 21″, back about 23″. I would like $30.00, but I am willing to negotiate. (-:

Natalie asked me to make a new lamp shade for a floor lamp that has been around for a while. I was glad to help, and take on the challenge. I decided to make it more user friendly when changing the bulb. It has snaps, and can be easily removed. I am very pleased . I hope she likes it!

My friend Terri has a coworker who needs a little help with a dress she bought for a wedding she is in. The sleeves needed a little “redo”, and a new hem was in order. With the fabric that was cut from the bottom, I made a simple, long sash. Thank goodness is was made of cotton. My kind of dress. Easy to wear, easy to sew. I think it looks pretty good.
