Jeffery has been after me to make a vest for him for quite a while. He is tall and slender, and finding clothing off the rack is difficult. I agreed, but not without a prototype. I made two, and finally with his help adjusting, I came up with the right pattern.

He picked a suiting fabric, and a contrasting gray lining fabric. I don’t like the lining fabric. It is slippery, and not easy to work with, but I figured it out, and the end result is very nice. I stitched the one remaining button, and a label on the lining. Looks good!  I am sure Jeff will like it as much as I do! ImageImageImageImage

A year or so ago, I was making infinity scarves like a crazy person. I slowed my jets on them after a while because I figured folks were tired of seeing them.  Well, I recentlyImageImageImageImage

decided to make a few more, and I am pleased with the results.

Baby outfit.

One of my co-workers is pregnant, and due in early June. I thought it would be nice to make an outfit for the baby. I like making kids clothes. Even if you make a mistake, they still look cute!  She is having a boy, so I used race cars for the shirt. A little stretch denim for the overalls. 019022027

Raggedy Ann

I did a repair job on a Raggedy Ann doll I have had for many years. Somewhere along the line, she lost her arm. Well, I took care of that. The surgery went well, and as you can see. Ann and Andy are quite happy with the new arm! I don’t know what happened to her clothes, but Nat dressed her in what was available. Also, MANY years ago. Maybe a new outfit will be next..????IMG_5346IMG_5343IMG_5341

IMG_5333Since I made so many aprons for Christmas gifts for my family, I decided to make one for myself. I don’t generally wear aprons, except at my job, and when  I wash dishes at family gatherings.  I wanted something with “redin the print. I found a sheet with  “Sneaker Kity .”  It is perfect!IMG_5336IMG_5331

Cuddle quilt for Isabella.

IMG_5045Tina purchased a kit for a quilt. It was strips of “Ultra Cuddle”. I usually run, if someone asks me to work with it, but I decided to give it a shot.  It is very slippery, and sheds quite a bit.  I used my walking foot, and it helped, but still had to take stitching  out more than I like. 2 layers of slippage, one of batting, and satin blanket binding completed the task.  I think Isabella will like it.  IMG_5083IMG_5086

A hat, just for fun.

I have made hats for little ladies, but not one for grown up ladies.  I decided to give it a try, and see if they are something I want to do more often. They are a little tricky, and of course I don’t follow the instructions. I like to put my own spin on them, and make them reversible.  Two hats in one. Double duty!

Initially, I wasn’t thrilled with this, but now that I have stepped back, and taken photos, I like it.  I don’t like it on me, but someone might like it. It was an experiment.  IMG_5002IMG_5008

IMG_4998Andrea found a sheet in a second hand store she would like to have made into a duvet cover. A smaller, lap sized.   As luck would have it, the sheet is the perfect size folded in half. I used the original border, and some of the excess fabric to make ties for the bottom.

Dress for Elizabeth.

Tina works for a publishing company. The books are sewing/crafting, with all you need to know to make each item.  She asked me to make a dress for her, and her daughter Elizabeth.  She wanted a hat for her other daughter, so I suggested one for Liz, as well. She agreed.  All the items turned out very nice. I hope all 3 of them will be pleased.

As you all know by now, Isabella has a thing for “Yo Gabba Gabba”. She is in need of a skirt this time. The wait is over, honey. This is for you!Image
