Recent practice projects.

This is the latest practice, just for the heck of it, projects I have done. Been finding very interesting fabric @ Thrift Town recently. So cheap, and all kinds of experimenting will happen.
So many projects, so little time!

If you interested in the shorts, or colorful bra type top, they are for sale. You can contact me, and we can discuss it. Thanks.
Garage/ waiting room project.

I received an email today, asking me if I could make a curtain to cover heating ducts in a garage. I responded with a “yes”, and a quote. I then was asked to come to the residence, and check out the “complete” project. I ran up the hill, and was surprised at the scale of the project. I chatted with the customer for some time. We exchanged ideas, and I agreed to do the job. Raised my quote, and told her I would be happy to bring my machines, and any tools I felt I needed to do the job. This one is custom, on location. We agreed to go shopping for fabric the next day. That worked out well. Found some nice, fairly cheap fabric that would fit the bill. Check out some of what I was up against. This one is going to be a challenge, and take some time.
First prototype, size Jr. Godzilla!!!

I met with Mike again today in Hayward with the first prototype jersey. It is HUGE!! I made it the way he asked, and I think we over estimated the size. He really liked it, despite the humongous size. Said his goalie can wear it. He told me he wanted to show it to the guys, and they would decide if they want to proceed with this idea. I agreed, and waited for his progress report. Here is a picture of the Godzilla jersey.
Last group of Vitas bears.

This is the last group of bears I made for “VITAS”. I decided I needed to spend more time on my sewing gigs that paid. Volunteering was great, and for a very good cause, but I needed to spend my time better. Some time in the future, I might do it again. Now is just not the time. I notified the new lady. “Tami”, and informed her I would deliver the bears to her at the office. Here’s the last group of pictures of my guys.
Meeting with Mike.

I met Mike in Hayward today to discuss the hockey jerseys. We talked for about an hour, and I agreed to make a prototype using the info he had sent in a previous email. I would let him know when I finished, and we would meet again for delivery. He is ordering the fabric from Ebay, and having it shipped to me at home.
Silver sequins hockey Jersey’s.

Got an email from a gentleman asking if I could make sequins jerseys for his hockey team. They were going to Vegas next March to play in a tournament, and needed something wild, and fun to wear. I answered, I had not sewn on sequins before, but I would be willing to try, and let him know how it goes. He agreed, and also sent a picture of a jersey with dimensions so I would have an idea of the scale I would be making. I purchased a small amount of fabric, and made a small one. It turned out great! I sent a picture, and an email to Mike, and soon we made plans to meet, and chat about the project.
Khaki shorts

I wanted to make something new from something used. Chose a pair of khaki shorts made from a pair of pants I had in my stash of fabric. Again, a zipper, and this time pockets, and pleats.
