Courtney liked what I did with the 501’s a while back. The skirt with the purple dotted lining.  I was thinking, her birthday is coming up, and making her a skirt would be the perfect gift.  I told her of my plans a couple weeks ago, and asked for a pair of jeans. She found a pair very quickly, and I told her I will make the skirt, but I won’t line it.  (She was fine with that.)  I did use the purple dotted fabric to make a sash.  I also added a little something with the left over denim. I think she will like it.

Happy 21 st Birthday!

OMG!  I am so pleased with this project. It actually looks a lot like how I imagined. I love it when that happens.   I think Nat will like it as well. This is my first attempt at recovering a piece of furniture.  Not bad lady!  hahahaha

The request was to make a new cover for the foot stool. Something made from old jeans. Well, as luck would have it, I have plenty of black  jeans I acquired recently. Perfect for the project. It is going well, but I wanted to post some preliminary  pictures, including the mess that happens when I am on a sewing streak.  (-: This is just the kitchen! Never mind all the thread, and scraps of fabric that get strung all over the rest of the house. lol

I have to admit, this one was a challenge. Nat is good for presenting me with fabrics, etc. that I usually run in the other direction when I see them. It is made of silk. A little tricky, to say the least.  I needed to shorten the length, and put a pocket over an area where there is a stain of some sort.  Now that it is done, and I have stepped away, I think it looks pretty good. I am thankful Nat is easy to please, and this is not her best “red” dress. ha!

Thanks Babe! ♥

This  springy little dress is cute, but had a very matronly neckline. Nat asked me to make it better. Please!  I did just that.  It looks much nicer, and I think she will wear it more.   I was also presented with an item she uses when belly dancing. It needed to be cleaned up a bit, and she wanted it to have an “apron” look. No problem Babe.  Consider it done.

Natalie sent a bag of many items in need of a face lift. Of course I took on the challenge. This little blue dress was in need of a little serging, and adding of lace. It was a tad short, so I used wide lace for the bottom, and something smaller, and similar for the sleeves. I think it turned out nice.  More on the way. I did mention there were several items. ha  (-;

I received a very interesting request for  “MC Hammer” pants to wear to an A’s game in July. Of course I was intrigued with the idea, and was ready for the challenge. Marykate was very helpful sending a link to a site with detailed instructions, and yes, pictures!!  We soon met over a latte’, and agreed to get started . Marykate bought the fabric, and supplied all the measurements I needed to make a pair for her, and her brother Michael.   I am pleased to say, they turned out very nice, and I think Marykate and her brother will be doing a happy dance!  (-;   This was a fun project for me.  Easy to do, and I had the perfect client. Thanks, Marykate!
